The DuxburyPRIDE Foundation has determined that improving
the athletic facilities is a priority and the organization is proposing
the funding, construction, and ongoing maintenance of a synthetic athletic
field for the High School and Middle School.
In addition to helping to eliminate
or minimize natural field issues, the new synthetic field will:
- Enhance Duxbury’s reputation
- Preserve the integrity of the athletic programs
- Provide Duxbury coaches and student-athletes with the facilities they
need in order to prepare and compete
- Provide year-round access (practices and games will not be affected
by the flooding of the existing facilities)
- Provide a facility to the general community
- Support area youth leagues
- Support area adult leagues
- Provide revenue generating opportunities as outside groups rent the
facilities
- Ensure that Duxbury athletic facilities are 100 percent compliant for
regional and state tournaments
